Fairy Godmother Project Brings Magic to Avoca Secondary School
CLAIRE ALVES Matriculant and beneficiary In a heartwarming initiative that truly embodies the spirit of community and generosity, the Princess Project has made dreams come true for many students at Avoca Secondary School. This initiative, spearheaded by Pokuhe Shabalala, a dedicated Grade 12 learner and member of the SIDYA (Soroptomist International Durban Youth Activate ) at Avoca Secondary, provided 200 rental dresses for the school’s learners. With the matric dance, a pivotal event in the lives of South African high school students, often presenting a financial burden, the Fairy Godmother Project. With the generous sponsorship from Rhanda Clarke at The Dress Shop, the Princess Project at Avoca Secondary School also received support from Soroptimist International Durban.
